The Simply Lovely Lingerie Story

The first Simply Lovely Lingerie store was opened in Hanover, Ontario on April 28, 1998, by owner JoAnn Switzer and was the starting point of a wonderful new business. Located downtown on the main street in an older building with beautiful bay windows, it was home to the lingerie store for five years. Our many customers were more than happy to have a salesperson help them find the right fitting bra for their body type and to make their bra shopping experience a comfortable one.

In November, 1999, after a lot of research and pavement-pounding, JoAnn opened her second location on the east end of Ontario Street in Stratford. The women of Stratford welcomed the second location with the same enthusiasm as the original - at last there was a place to find help and answers about well-fitting bras!

Both locations stocked thousands of items and offered the same in-house services such as gift wrapping, online shopping and gift certificates. Although both stores carried much of the same merchandise, the Stratford store began stocking swimwear and beach cover-ups all year round for the convenience of winter vacationers.

As the years passed and our customer base grew it was time for both stores to find new homes. The Hanover shop moved to 10th Avenue next to Schultz’s Bakery. The Hanover store was closed in May of 2009 - we wish to thank everyone for their support over the years.

The Stratford store was relocated to it’s current spot in the downtown historic district in February 2005. With more of a boutique look it blends well with the other wonderful shops on Downie Street and is close to the Avon Theatre and downtown tourist area. This shop is open Sundays year ’round (except long weekends.). Christine, Susan, Janet & Evelyn are there to greet customers and help them with their Simply Lovely shopping experience.
